Art and Museums

Font Hill Castle – The home of Henry Chapman Mercer, an eccentric artist and tile maker who built the castle from the ground up, using only concrete. (Including his bed!) If you like home tours, this is a must-visit with beautiful grounds. mercermuseum.org/about/fonthill-castle

Mercer Museum – Mercer was also a collector of old farm equipment, medical tools and a bunch of other fascinating odds and ends that he kept obsessively organized. He built this museum (you guessed it, out of concrete) to house them all. mercermuseum.org

County Theater – A fantastic two-screen indie movie theater right in the heart of Doylestown and walkable to most of the restaurants, coffee shops and bars in the area. countytheater.org

Bucks County Playhouse – Historic regional theater frequently featuring Broadway actors and directors. Located 20 minutes from Doylestown, in nearby New Hope. bcptheater.org
